ABIGOBA mit der rohen „Jazz auf Groove“-Fusion ist eine untypische Jazzgruppe aus Lyon, die offiziell im Januar 2001 startete. Eklektisch beeinflusst wagt sich das ABIGOBA Sextett daran, Acid-Jazz, Funk, Rock und Elektro in einem authentischen Jazz glücklich zu vereinen, um damit eine „jubilierende“ Musik zu bieten und ihre Singularität sowie Originalität zu unterstreichen. In der Gruppe ist Jean-Luc Briançon verantwortlich für Keyboard und Samples, Stéphane Hermann den Bass, Christophe Métra Trompete, Nicolas Mondon Gitarre, Stéphane Maruel Drums und Franck Boutin-Albrand spielt das Schlagzeug. ABIGOBA beweist mit dem vierten Album „Urban Jazz Pressure Cooker“, dass Musikalität, Moderne und Authentizität nicht inkompatibel sein müssen und enthüllt Musik aus entschlossen innovativen Arrangements. Die Bonus-DVD beschreibt die Geschichte der Gruppe und vermittelt die unglaubliche Stimmung bei ihren Gigs. ABIGOBA or raw “jazz on groove” fusion is an untypical group of jazz from Lyon officially born in january 2001. With eclectic influences, the ABIGOBA sextet dare to merrily mix acid-jazz, funk, rock, electro to an authentic jazz to offer a “jubilant” music and to always better reinforce the singular and original character of their music. In the group, Jean-Luc Briançon is found at keyboard and samples, Stéphane Hermann at bass, Christophe Métra at trumpet, Nicolas Mondon at guitar, Stéphane Maurel at drums and Franck Boutin-Albrand at percussions. ABIGOBA shows with its 4th album “URBAN JAZZ PRESSURE COOKER” that musicality, modernity and authenticity are not incompatible and reveals a music with resolutely innovative arrangements. The bonus DVD relates the group history and transmits the amazing mood of the gigs.
