Cuban Flavour enstand während eines musikalischen und kulturellen Treffens, als sechs der besten Musiker der neuen Generation Kubas die DR Big Band besuchten. Das Thema war Salsa. Heraus kam ein komplett neues Repertoire, welches speziell von Cesar Lopez und Alexis Bosch Mendez komponiert wurde.
