Electrify my soul is the first record achievement from the project frogNstein led by Cédric HANRIOT (piano, keys, programming, compositions, arrangements) and Bertrand BERUARD (bass, double-bass, programming, compositions, arrangements), desirous to propose a topical music, close to their influences around an electro-jazz with multiple facets.
The album suggests a journey beyond some various and full ambiences where the two composers/arrangers have laid on themselves no limits as for the level of instrumentation as the styles got onto. Thus 22 stakeholders bringtheir touch to this creature mid-biological, mid-cybernetic named frogNstein : strings and brass wind, voices from 3 continents, 2 drummers with complementary styles, programming and samples. We find indeed among them some talented guests : the drummer Franck Agulhon (Stefano Di Battista), the American singer Dean Bowman (John Scofield, Screamin' Headless Torsos,…), the trumpet player Guillaume Poncelet (No Jazz), the Chinese singer/poet Coco Zhao…

Electrify my Soul est la première concrétisation discographique du projet frogNstein mené par Cédric HANRIOT (piano, claviers, programmations, compositions, arrangements) et Bertrand BERUARD (basse, contrebasse, programmations, compositions, arrangements), désireux de proposer une musique actuelle et proche de leurs influences autour d’un electro-groove-jazz aux multiples facettes.
L’album propose un voyage à travers des ambiances riches et variées, où les deux compositeurs/arrangeurs ne se sont imposé aucune limite tant au niveau de l’instrumentation que des styles abordés. Ainsi 22 intervenants apportent leur touche à cette créature mi-biologique, mi-cybernétique appelée frogNstein : cuivres et cordes, voix de trois continents, deux batteurs aux styles complémentaires, programmations et samples. On trouve parmi eux quelques invités de marque : le batteur Franck AGULHON (Stefano Di BATTISTA), le chanteur américain Dean BOWMAN (John SCOFIELD, Screamin’Headless Torsos,…), le trompettiste Guillaume PONCELET (No Jazz), le chanteur/poète chinois Coco ZHAO…
