Politiken
“Falgren plays with attitude, tonally walking the walk, with a style that can remind of Stuff Smiths, only more musical” Boris Rabinowitsch
Soundvenue.dk
“I have never heard such heart-torn violin playing in jazz before this record. The band's own tunes are so good that they actually outshine the rest of their repertoire” Thomas Broge-Starck
Jazz Special
“Hot 'n Spicy have such an enormous presence on stage, and they killed the audience with a blazing version of Chick Corea's Armando's Rumba.” Jens Jørn Gjeldsted
Jazz Stage
“Hot'n Spicy was one of the highlights of the Stockholm Jazz Festival.” Lars Beck
Aftenposten
“These three musicians, all in their twenties, have found their very own musical language; Unique, but always 100 percent natural.” Stein Kagge

In September 2002, Hot 'n Spicy released their debut Journey on Cope records. In that year, they had almost a hundred concerts, playing all over Scandinavia, including clubs and venues such as Copenhagen Jazz House, Fasching, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Molde Jazz Festival and Stockholm Jazz Festival. The band has also had numerous radio and television appearances in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
"Hot 'n Spicy is an eminent modern string trio. The two Norwegians Lars Tormod Jenset (bass) and Svein-Erik Martinsen (guitar/vocals) are in perfect rhythmical balance with the Dane Bjarke Falgren (violin and percussion stunts), who is infact the hardest swinging jazz-fiddler I´ve heard since "Stuff" Smith. Their repertoire has an incredible span, and you can tell from the crowd reactions on the live recordings on their new CD, that this trio must be the real thing, and a pleasure to watch on stage
