Als vielseitiger Musiker, Pianist, Lehrer und Forscher bewegt sich Arnould Massart zwischen ebenso verschiedenen Stilen wie Jazz, zeitgenössischer Musik und Pop (wobei seine offene Musikkonzeption ihn auch zu einem gefragten künstlerischen Leiter, Komponisten, Arrangeur und Performer macht, z.B. für Maurane, Alain Chamfort, Khaled und viele andere). Im Jazz muss das Powerhouse-Trio „Three to Get Ready“, das er 1983 mit Philippe Aerts und Philippe Mobers formte, zu seinen bemerkenswertesten Leistungen zählen. Ein gleichbenanntes Album wurde 1985 veröffentlicht. Fast 20 Jahre später verspürt Massart nun wieder den Drang, mit dem Trio loszuziehen und das Igloo Label hatte gleichsam das Bedürfnis, eine CD erneut zu veröffentlichen, die bisher nur als Vinyl erhältlich war und nicht im geringsten an Reiz verloren hat. Jeder der drei Kompagnons hat inzwischen eigene Spuren im Jazz hinterlassen. Hell, fröhlich, jazzig, Latino an der Grenze zu Samba und Jazz, zu Improvisation und Emotion, so klingen „Three to Get Ready“ und bieten eine Auswahl von Kompositionen Massarts, die immerzu mit Dynamik und Strenge, Virtuosität und Tiefe jonglieren. Dieser Samba-Bop schafft es, gefühlvolle brasilianische Rhythmen mit der impulsiven Spontaneität vom Bop zu vereinen und dabei nicht das Markenzeichen des Bandleaders, eine humorvolle Seite, zu vergessen! Eine Platte, die entdeckt werden muss – oder wieder entdeckt – mit drei zuvor unveröffentlichten Bonustracks.

A versatile musician, pianist, teacher and researcher, Arnould Massart moves between styles as diverse as jazz, contemporary music and pop (where his open conception of music makes of him an in-demand artistic director, composer, arranger and performer for Maurane, Alain Chamfort, Khaled and many others...). In jazz, one of his most memorable works was the powerhouse trio he formed in 1983 with Philippe Aerts and Philippe Mobers, "Three to Get Ready". An album of the same name was released in 85. Almost 20 years later, Massart is tempted by the urge to take to the road with the trio again, and the Igloo label by the urge to re-release on CD what had only been available on vinyl until now and has not aged in the slightest. Because although the three companions have each made their separate marks in jazz since then, all the promise of their talent was already visible.
