Die Geschichte von Thorbjørn Risager und seiner Band ist eine Erfolgsgeschichte. Sie kamen… nun, nicht unbedingt aus dem Nichts, doch zumindest aus der lokalen Kopenhagener Bluesszene. Mit Hilfe ihrer früheren Live-CD, in einem dortigen Club aufgenommen, katapultierten sie sich hinein in die internationale Blueswelt. 2006 spielten sie bereits in acht Ländern auf Festivals und in Clubs und das war nur der Anfang. Die Zukunft wird zeigen, wie weit es die Band noch bringen wird…
Die Gruppe ist in vielerlei Hinsicht außergewöhnlich. Ihr charismatischer Vokalist Thorbjørn Risager verdiente sich mit seiner einzigartigen Blues- und Soulstimme den Ruf eines der besten Sänger Dänemarks. Außerdem ist er ein herausragender Songwriter und seine kraftvolle Gitarre füllt die Balance seines Gesangs perfekt aus. Wie der Rest seiner Musiker liefert er Solos von hohem Niveau ab, dynamisch, voller Gefühl und Präsenz.
Dies ist auch deshalb keine ordinäre Bluesband, weil ein großer Teil ihres Repertoires Klassiker sind, New Orleans gefärbter R&B der 1950er und 60er – obwohl das meiste von Thorbjørn geschrieben wurde, sei es allein oder mit einem seiner Musiker.
Doch es ist definitiv auch keine ordinäre R&B-Band! Sie geben ein ernstes und tief schürfendes Statement ab und sie verpassen der Tradition eine Frischzellenkur, indem sie ihre ganz persönliche Version von ihr erstellen, mit einer Kraft, die den Raum ins Wanken bringt und direkt in Herz und Seele des Hörers eindringt.
Beim Copenhagen Blues Festival 2005 wurde Thorbjørn zum „Blues Artist of the Year“ ernannt. Die Live-CD öffnete bereits Türen zu vielen Orten, ganz einfach, weil die Energie seiner Band so offensichtlich ist, was schon vom Gitarrensolo des Anfangsstücks deutlich wird.
Diese neue CD, „From The Heart“, produziert vom legendären Billy Cross, wurde innerhalb der ersten drei Monate nach ihrer Veröffentlichung von mehr als 40 Radiosendern in 17 Ländern gespielt (inklusive BBC und mehreren US-Sendern) und dürfte die Band noch viele Stufen ihrer Karriereleiter erklimmen lassen. Bei 80% Originalen, zu denen kraftvoller Soulblues mit Hitpotenzial zählt, könnte es diese Gruppe noch sehr weit bringen.

The story of Thorbjørn Risager and his band is one of success. They came out of… well not exactly nowhere, but from the local Copenhagen blues scene, and with the help of their previous live-CD, recorded straight up-and-down in a local club, they catapulted themselves out into the international blues world. In 2006 they played at festivals and clubs in eight countries, and this is only the beginning. Only the future will tell how far they will reach …This is an extraordinary group in many ways. Their charismatic vocalist Thorbjørn Risager has earned a reputation as one of Denmark's best singers, with an exceptional bluesy and soulful voice. He is also an outstanding song writer, and his powerful guitar fills balance his song phrases perfectly. Just like the rest of his musicians, he delivers solos on a high level, dynamic and full of nerve and presence. This is not an ordinary blues band, since a large portion of their repertoire is classic, New Orleans flavoured 1950's and 60's R&B - although most of it is written by Thorbjørn, alone or with somebody in the band. But it’s definitely not an ordinary R&B-band either! They are making a serious and deep statement and they’ve updated the tradition, creating their very personal version of it, with a power that both shakes up the room and goes into the heart and soul of each individual listener.At the Copenhagen Blues Festival 2005 he was appointed “blues artist of the year”.
