Mit Ellington Bolelvard liefert der New Yorker Jazzgitarrist Greg Skaff seinen Einstand in dem populären Jazz Genre des Hammond Organ - Gitarrentrios. Mit seiner am Blues und Funk geschulten Sensibilität stellt sich Skaff in die eindrucksvolle Reihe seiner musikalischen Gitarren / Hammond Trio Vorgänger Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Pat Martino und Grant Green. Zusammen mit Schlagzeuger Joe Farnsworth und Organist Mike Le Donne ueberzeugt Skaff’s Trio in einem hoch-virtuosen, swingenden Programm von 5 Originalkompositionen und 4 klassischen Bebop Standards. Alle drei Musiker treten regelmässig in dem bekannten SMOKE Jazz Club in Manhattan auf. Er liegt an der Kreuzung vom Broadway und 106th Street – dem Duke Ellington Boulevard – daher der Name der CD.
