Seit zehn Jahren erfreut sich Anne Wolf einer belebten, abwechslungsreichen Karriere. Sie ist eine Pianistin von formalem, klassischen Training – erhielt den ersten Preis in Sol-Fa und Jazzpiano vom Conservatory. Wolf hat französischen Chanson gespielt, brasilianische Musik, Soul und afrikanische Musik. Zu ihren Sparringpartnern zählen neben Christian Merveille und Sttellla auch Pierre Van Dormael, Manu Hermie, Ben N’gabo und Parfums Latins. Als ihre Entscheidung fiel, ein Trio zu bilden, wandte sie sich an Chris Joris als Perkussionisten und Cédric Waterschoot am Bass, um ihre Kompositionen, Jazz Standards und brasilianisches Repertoire (Gismonti, Pascoal) zu begleiten. Diese enge Combo hat gerade „Amazone“, ihre erste CD aufgenommen, welche die energetische Sängerin Marcia Maria aus Brasilien in vier Stücken aufbietet (sie zeichnet sich auch für den Text des Titelstücks verantwortlich). Anne Wolf ist eine Pianistin, die mit Rhythmus, Genuss, Instinkt und Melodie spielt. All das findet sich im Überfluss auf „Amazone“. In erster Linie enthält es ihre eigenen Kompositionen, die ihrer zwei Partner sowie Stücke von Charles Loos, Kenny Barron und Egberto Gismonti. Momente reinen Hörgenusses, der die Wärme Brasiliens mit einer gewissen Intimität, sonnigen Rhythmen und viel Gefühl aufwiegt.

Anne Wolf has been enjoying a vibrant, varied career for over ten years. A pianist with formal, classical training - first prize in sol-fa and jazz piano from the conservatory - Wolf has played French chanson, Brazilian music, soul and African music. Her sparring partners have included Christian Merveille and Sttellla, and she has also worked with Pierre Van Dormael, Manu Hermia, Ben N'gabo and Parfums Latins.When she decided to form her own trio, she turned to Chris Joris on percussion and Cédric Waterschoot on bass to accompany her compositions, jazz standards and Brazilian repertoire (Gismonti, Pascoal). This tight combo has just recorded a first CD,"Amazone"that features the energetic Brazilian singer Marcia Maria on four tracks (she also provided the lyrics on the title track). Anne Wolf is a pianist that plays with rhythm, pleasure, instinct and melody. All these can be found in abundance on "Amazone". It largely features her own compositions, those of her two partners as well as tracks by Charles Loos, Kenny Barron and Egberto Gismonti. Moments of listening pleasure that balance Brazilian warmth with a certain intimacy, sunny rhythms and feeling.
